Can patients book a dental appointment online?

How does a patient book?

It takes a few messages, even at nine in the evening:

• The patient asks for an appointment. Owivo first asks whether they are a new patient and what kind of appointment they need.
• Owivo looks for free slots in the calendar of the right location and offers a few.
• The patient picks a slot and confirms. Only then is the appointment booked.
• The patient receives a confirmation by email.

Does Owivo work with Progenda?

Yes. You connect it with a token from Progenda rather than your password, in about five minutes. After that:

• Every slot Owivo offers comes from your Progenda calendar.
• Every appointment lands in Progenda immediately, with the patient's name, phone number and email. If Progenda rejects the slot, the patient gets no confirmation.
• Owivo fetches changes every five minutes. Appointments you create in Progenda yourself block that time for the chat.

Does Owivo work with Google Calendar?

Yes, with two-way sync per location. Busy times in your Google Calendar are not offered, and appointments booked in the chat show up in your calendar.

What if you use a different calendar?

Then Owivo does not book in that calendar. A patient who wants an appointment leaves their details and your team finds the request in the Owivo dashboard. Other practice software will follow, but we only name it once the connection works.

How does Owivo know when there is room?

Without a connected calendar, Owivo uses the opening hours and appointment types you set per location. When a location is connected to Progenda, the schedule in Progenda decides which times Owivo offers.
